Gregory BagYes, just like Angel said, we need one backpacking pack and one small (easy to carry in one hand) duffel for our ministry supplies (have you all be thinking about VBS ideas?). The sweet picture to the left is a Gregory 70 I found at REI.com. It is very, very nice… Here is what was sent out via email when I was having issues with blogging:

I would strongly recommend getting an internal frame and not an external frame pack. Jansport (Kia) makes a good bottom-line pack. REI, Kelty, and Gregory (Honda Accord) are great and recommended. North Face, Mountain Hardware, and Osprey are pricier yet are quality packs (Lexius). Arc’Teryx (Cadillac/Mercedes) is top of the line but is very pricey but you will get your money out of it. Size wise (that rhymes…), I have an Arc’Teryx Bora 80, and you could fit a good-sized child in it. But I am a large guy, so no one needs that large of pack. Guys, I would recommend a 60-80 depending on your sized. Girls I would go from anywhere in between a 50-70 depending on what you want (remember, we will be living out of these for 9 weeks… hurray sacrifice!). Because it is the rainy season, we all need to get pack-covers, they’re like $10 (don’t worry about getting a $$waterproof pack) as well as rain gear for our poor bodies.

To recap: don’t bring any suitcases. bring one backpacking pack and one small duffel with ministry supplies.
no speedos…
